About

2:00–3:30 PM — VOTEFEST IN THE PARK 3:30 PM — MARCH TO THE POLLS October 24 is a big day: it’s the last day to register to vote and the first day of early voting. So we’re turning MacDonald Park into a celebration of participation — with music, signs, art, food, voter information, and HeadCount on site registering voters right up to the deadline. At 3:30, we’ll pick up our VOTEFEST signs, carry them at the front, and take the energy of the park into the streets as we head to the polls together. Marching together to vote draws on a powerful American tradition, rooted in Black churches and communities in the South, where voting became more than an individual act — it became something communities did together, visibly and joyfully. Before the march, VOTEFEST will fill the park with the Curtis Watts Trio, Great Neck Singing Resistance, the League of Women Voters, HeadCount, hands-on art projects, voter information, civic action, empanadas, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile. Register. Sing. Make art. Get informed. Then at 3:30, we take it to the streets — and to the polls.
