About

The purpose of this event is so that Unions stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity and in power, to demand Universal Healthcare in Oregon. In particular, we demand that our legislature complete the bill and pass it to the voters for 2028. **Please wear you union colors to this event!** Here is a link to the most recent Workers Rally flyer which changes as we add endorsements! Please print and share widely! https://canva.link/8eobhbi7n3ibq2w ## What This Means for Union Members - **Health Care for all** – Everyone in, no one out - **Quality Care** – PEBB + quality coverage (the kind insurance our lawmakers get) - **Fair, predictable costs** – Insurance costs go down dramatically for most workers - **Premiums only** – UHPGB projected cost estimates are premiums only; they don't include copays or deductibles - **Save our Schools** – $500–800 million/year in projected savings for K-12 education - **Save our public services** – Hundreds of millions/year in projected savings for government programs - **Easier Contract Negotiations** – The rising cost of healthcare no longer competes with demands for higher compensation - **Coverage untied from employment** – A job loss or early retirement before Medicare no longer means scrambling for individual coverage (25 million workers in the US only stay in their current job for health insurance) - **Better coverage in our rural communities** – Normalized rates will be a lifeline for rural clinics and hospitals - **So much more** – Like lower workers' comp and auto insurance rates, since medical costs are no longer priced into those premiums
