About

Each year since 2013, the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (NAAF), the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance (NAA), and numerous partners in the gun violence prevention community have sponsored the National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence on or near the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. These multidenominational events, held in Washington, D.C., at the National Cathedral and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, bring together survivors of gun violence, victims’ family members, concerned citizens, faith leaders, lawmakers, leaders of gun violence prevention organizations, and activists from across the nation. The 14th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2026 from 7-9:00pm ET at St Marks Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. December 14, 2026 is the 14-year mark of the Sandy Hook tragedy. By this December, more than 1.4 million Americans will be killed or injured by guns since the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. We urge you to join the gun violence prevention community in our collective effort to continue to shine a light on the devastating epidemic of gun violence in our nation until these gun deaths and injuries are reduced. The victims, survivors and the families impacted by gun violence are often forgotten. We have lost our #FreedomToLive. Therefore, the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation and the Newtown Action Alliance, in partnership with 160+ organizations will host the annual national vigil service of mourning and loving remembrance for all who have fallen victim to the ongoing epidemic of gun violence in America. Our goal is simple. The gun violence prevention movement will unite to support the families and communities impacted by gun violence, educate, continue to raise awareness, and keep this critical issue front and center throughout our nation. Together, we will renew our vow to #HonorWithAction to #EndGunViolence in America by restoring our #FreedomFromGunViolence.
