About
LGBTQ+ folks love a sassy queen, but we know that our democracy has no place for Kings. We also know that civic engagement and voter participation can – and should – be a celebration! On October 17th, join us as we educate voters about the upcoming election, help **our communities** make plans to vote early, ensure every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote – and also have a ton of fun celebrating body liberation and local artists, performers, and businesses. There may a throne (for the Imperial Council of SF). There will be Drag Kings (and Queens!) There will definitely be crowns. But we know that our queer joy is a protest against those in power who think these symbols belong to them. *No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters.* *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
