About
On Sunday, October 25, more than twenty-five Guilford County organizations will walk together to the polls for early voting. We'll gather at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 901 E. Friendly Ave., at 2:00 PM for speakers, gospel music, a drumline, and giant butterfly puppets, then walk nine-tenths of a mile to the early voting site at the old Guilford County Courthouse, 301 W. Information tables from our endorsing organizations will be on the lawn, along with a Kids Mock Voting Booth, Raging Grannies, and Singing Resistance. This is a nonpartisan, multicultural, interfaith gathering — immigrant justice and health care and workers' rights and voting rights, side by side, because right now voting is how we change things. Shuttles (as needed) can bring walkers back to Church of the Redeemer afterward. Let us know when you register if you need accessibility accommodations. All our neighbors. All our issues. One community. Parking for Unity Walk to the Polls, Sunday, Oct. 25 Our program and walk begin at 2 PM at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 901 E. Friendly Ave., Greensboro. Parking is limited at Bethel AME Church next door and along nearby streets. Our recommended plan: carpool and arrive early to drop your passengers at the Redeemer. Then drive four minutes to the Church Street Parking Deck at 215 N. Church St. The deck is a ten-minute walk from the starting point at the Redeemer, and a ten-minute walk from the finish at the Old Courthouse Early Voting site, 301 W. Market St. If you’re able, please use this deck so you can walk to the start and then walk back to your car when the event ends. Shuttles If you need extra assistance, limited shuttle service will run after the walk. Shuttles leave on the half hour, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, from the loading zone across from the Greene Street Parking Deck, 211 S. Greene St., near the Old Courthouse finish. The shuttle will return you to the Church Street Parking Deck or the Church of the Redeemer.
