About

**Join us for our Tuesday afternonn rally on the 10th St pedestrian bridge over the I-10 freeway downtown Phoenix** *Rush-hour Resistance Rallies happen every Monday–Friday during rush hour across the Phoenix metro area. Check out [RhRR.us](https://rhrr.us) for the latest locations!* Here are the particulars for this rally: **📆 TUESDAY AFTERNOONS** The rally starts at 4:30. You are free to show up anytime, but we recommend arriving a few minutes early to introduce yourself. We end promptly at 6:00 PM. Starting 29 Sep 2026, running thru 27 Oct 2026... or longer, if we love it! **🧑‍🤝‍🧑 GATHERING POINT** We gather on the bridge. Look for the signs. Can't miss us! **🪧 MESSAGING & FOCUS** One of RhRR’s strengths is that people feel free to express themselves. Ideally, your signs would help articulate any of our three pillars: * Defending democracy and the rule of law * Encouraging voting * Protecting neighbors and communities (e.g., immigrants, LGBTQIA+ people, workers, and veterans) This approach keeps signs aligned with RhRR’s purpose, while preserving personal expression and emotional authenticity. The primary goal of this event is to encourage voter participation, but participants are welcome to bring any sign they wish. We will provide and display the main voting-related signs facing both directions of traffic. Bringing your own sign? Two large bars span the bridge. To make sure your sign isn't blocked, make it horizontal and no more than about 24" tall. Flags, banners, and even inflatable costumes are welcome. Some blow lots of bubbles. While our mission is serious, humor and camaraderie matter. RhRRs are peaceful, public events. Most attendees don’t hide their faces, though some do; participate at your comfort level. Photos and videos are commonly shared on social media, but you can ask posters to remove accidental appearances. **🅿️ RECOMMENDED PARKING** Street parking is available along East Moreland Street throughout the surrounding neighborhood. There's also a parking lot at 10th St & Culver on the north side, but it may not be as "public" as we'd like. Stay vigilant! **🚌 PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION** Route 12 **📣 SPECIAL NOTES** Because the event takes place on a pedestrian bridge over an active freeway, safety is our highest priority. Clear safety guidelines will be provided to ensure everyone's well-being on the bridge and prevent items from falling onto the roadway below. Safety notices will be posted at both bridge entrances, and all participants will receive safety information in advance of the event. Five weeks can make a difference! 🥵 During hot weather, shade is limited. Bring water, sun protection, and consider a portable chair. Thanks in advance for joining us. See you on the streets! ✊ **More about RhRR and why we do what we do every day of the week:** 📣 Rush Hour Resistance Rally began with a clear idea: neighbors, gathering peacefully and regularly on busy nearby streets, could remind our communities that democracy is essential and that silence is unacceptable. Over the last year, RhRR expanded from a handful of participants to multiple locations across the Valley, reaching thousands of pedestrians and motorists each week. This momentum is significant, as is the duty it brings. 🗳️ As we approach the midterm elections, our united mission is to safeguard free and fair elections and promote civic participation, particularly in local and primary races where every vote carries weight. Our weekly rallies are more than outlets for frustration; they are consistent, visible commitments that normalize voting and democratic engagement as neighborly expectations. 🕊️ RhRR is a peaceful, nonconfrontational movement. Our goal is to reach the broader community, not to confront those seeking conflict. When tensions surface, we withdraw, stay composed, and look out for one another. This discipline keeps our rallies inviting and helps newcomers feel secure joining us. 🫂 Most of all, RhRR is about people caring for one another while standing up for the future of our democracy. Every person who shows up, every sign held, and every conversation sparked on a street corner is part of something larger and deeply hopeful. More info at [RhRR.us](https://rhrr.us).
