About
This Día de los Muertos, join us to honor and remember the lives taken by ICE and Border Patrol — and to demand an end to the violence. We'll gather and grieve publicly for the people who have died in ICE custody and been killed by ICE and Border Patrol agents, drawing on the Día de los Muertos tradition of honoring loved ones. This action is part of End the ICE Age, a national day of action happening in cities across the country October 31–November 2. We're demanding Congress get ICE out of our communities, redirect ICE funding, and shut down ICE detention centers for good. The plan is to meet at Hance Park, the East Ramada (covered picnic area), near the volleyball court, to hear a number of faith and community leaders speak, then after that we'll have a procession to the ICE Phoenix Field Office, where we'll gather and speak a little more about why we're there. A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
