About
JUSTICE FOR WANG WANG 🐾 Saturday, October 17, 2026 11 AM–1 PM 📍 Sam Houston Monument at Hermann Park, Houston We are raising our voices in Houston and looking for volunteers to join the Justice for Wang Wang peaceful public action. This demonstration is dedicated to Wang Wang and her puppies, CowCat, and other animals who have suffered severe cruelty. We are standing alongside animal advocates in China and around the world in encouraging stronger legal protections for animals and action against severe animal cruelty. China is home to more than 100 million pet owners and a growing community of people who care deeply about animals. At the same time, China currently does not have a comprehensive, nationwide anti-cruelty law protecting companion animals from abuse. Our message is not about condemning China or its people. It is about supporting progress, standing with people in China who are already speaking up, and encouraging the Chinese government to strengthen protections against animal cruelty. We will also be joined by Dr. Li, a Chinese citizen and native speaker, who will speak about animal welfare in China, the current gaps in legal protection, and why stronger anti-cruelty legislation matters. What volunteers can help with * Bring or carry signs and banners * Join the march and chants through Hermann Park * Hand out informational materials * Help attendees scan petition and action QR codes * Help at the action tables * Take photos and document the event * Talk with attendees and encourage people to get involved * Help keep the group organized as we move through the park Event plan We’ll meet at the Sam Houston Monument and march peacefully through Hermann Park, including the Reflection Pool and Memorial Monument area, before continuing toward the Houston Zoo parking area. Along the route, we’ll use signs, banners, chants, and conversations with the public to raise awareness about Wang Wang’s case, online animal-cruelty content, and the broader need for stronger legal protections for animals. The event will also include informational materials, petitions, QR codes, and opportunities for attendees to take further action. Main public action SCAN. SIGN. SPEAK UP. Attendees will be encouraged to: * Scan the QR code * Sign the petition calling for stronger protections against animal cruelty in China * Learn about the issue and additional ways to take action * Speak up against animal cruelty * Stand in solidarity with animal advocates in China and around the world Animal torture should not be entertainment or a source of attention and profit. Animals subjected to severe cruelty deserve protection, and people working within China to strengthen those protections deserve international support. This is about encouraging progress, not condemning a country. It is about standing together against cruelty wherever it occurs. Volunteer arrival Please come ready to help wherever needed. Signs, informational materials, QR codes, petitions, and action tables will be part of the event setup. Saturday, October 17 11 AM–1 PM 📍 Sam Houston Monument, Hermann Park
