About
Hosted by Cambridge Indivisible Resistance. Joined by BVOCAL singers. We ally ourselves with the national NoKings Vote Early day on Oct 17th. Those who sign up here will be notified of any changes due to weather. In Massachusetts, Oct 17 is the first day of the early in-person voting for the Nov 3 general election. .Please join us as we encourage passersby to vote early and register to vote if they haven’t. After 30 minutes in Harvard Square of holding signs, handing out flyers, and a few songs, we will walk a leisurely 0.5 miles to the main library -- one of 3 Cambridge in-person early voting sites. At the library we will join another vote-early group. Why Vote Early? 1. More flexibility: In Cambridge you can vote in person 7 days a week between Oct 17 – Oct 30. 2. Avoid any Election Day problems: bad weather, sickness, last-minute glitches, or disruptions. How to Vote Early in Cambridge: In person https://www.cambridgema.gov/departments/electioncommission/earlyvoting/earlyvotinginperson By ballot drop boxes https://www.cambridgema.gov/departments/electioncommission/earlyvoting/ballotdropboxes By mail https://www.cambridgema.gov/departments/electioncommission/earlyvoting/earlyvotingbymail NoKings statement: We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next. For more than a year, millions of people have come together to REJECT the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law. Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it's a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. No king gets to pick our leaders. The choice is ours through the vote. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. *No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. A core principle behind all NoKings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
