Direct Action Rally in Mt. Orab

On Wednesday, October 14th in Mt. Orab Park, our “representative” along with other leaders will be attending a rally and prayer vigil for a racist, sexist, transphobic podcaster who was killed last year by the same gun violence he advocated for, on his birthday. In case you weren’t aware; Charlie Kirk was a racist grown man who debated college students for a podcast, as man who harmed our youth by pushing harmful rhetoric, was an advocate for gun violence, was anti abortion and believed women should submit to their husbands. He fought against the LGBTQ+ community and overall didn’t believe in empathy and used religion to cover up his evil. How do you feel about your rep showing up for this kind of man but he never shows up for you? We think we should take this opportunity to finally go and speak with him. Let’s give David Taylor and the others a going away present with our presence. They’ve only got a couple more months left and then we vote them out. There is no place for a celebration for life for a man like this. Racists have become too bold and we have allowed it. Let’s fix that. This is a direct non violent action. We understand this action is not for everyone but we are asking those who it is for, to be there. If this action if for you, reach out to us and let’s chat. We will be meeting out front on the public sidewalks at 5:30pm. Bring your banners, your signs and noise makers. Depending on the lighting of the hours we’re there, we will be setting up a projector at the entrance way. We are taking ideas on what to project and have a folder to add to. If you’d like to help us set up show up around 5pm. We want to ensure folks driving in see it. Same for the banners and signs. Make sure they are direct, bold and easy to read. Prepare your questions if you get the chance to get close enough to ask em. If this action is not for you, that is okay. If you don’t want to be direct but want to stand out and protest please do. We need all kinds of folks at these actions not just those willing to be direct. We will have a projector posted up near the entrance showing specific graphics and videos that relate to this event. If you have anything you think should be posted up, please share with me. Our lead will be there at 5:15pm so ensure we’re set up and be ready for when supporters of the event are coming into the event. Direct action does not mean violent for those who may think so or are wondering. This is a non violent direct action. I want to mention aggression in these times is not negative. We need aggressive people on our side, we need angry people, we need de escalators, we need distracters, we need folks with signs, and more. We just don’t believe we should have to put non violent when it’s clear we are not the violent ones but we understand some folks still need to be told and we do respect that. We should have easy access to our representatives, we should show awareness to who is attending in support of these kinds of events and who Charlie Kirk was by using himself and his quotes up on a big screen. David Taylor will show up for Charlie Kirk but he won’t show up for you. That really should say a whole lot.
