## **Deliver Hope, One Bag at a Time: Mobilize for Food Access!** **Join our group effort to strengthen and improve our community's health!** We're partnering with local organizations to support and expand **Wesley House's food delivery program**, and we need your help to make it happen. --- ### **Why Your Help Matters** Mutual aid isn’t just a seasonal gesture; it is a **continuous, vital need.** For many of our neighbors, food insecurity is more than just hunger—it is a significant barrier that prevents families from accessing necessary healthcare, finding stability, or achieving long-term success. We’ve seen how major policy changes and economic shifts have affected communities nationwide, often leaving the most vulnerable behind. By showing up, you’re helping to bridge that gap and ensuring that no one in our community is left to navigate these challenges alone. ### **Meaningful Work, Directly to the Door** This is a unique opportunity to engage in work that has a **direct, tangible impact.** By delivering fresh groceries, you are removing a massive hurdle from a family's day and providing the foundation they need to thrive. ### **Keeping Our Community Safe** Your well-being—and the safety of our neighbors—is our top priority. We have designed our delivery process to be as efficient and safe as possible, following clear protocols to ensure that everyone stays protected while we do this important work. ### **Volunteer Opportunities** We have two primary ways for you to get involved and support the program: * **Box Packing (Tuesdays & Thursdays):** Help us at Wesley House to curate and pack grocery assistance boxes tailored for our families. * **Home Delivery (Fridays - Tentative):** Take to the streets! Use your own vehicle to drive established routes and deliver the pre-packed grocery boxes directly to families' homes. This volunteer opportunity will be a SEPARATE Mobilize event. [If you are interested in volunteering as a driver, please indicate HERE](https://mobilize.us/s/7baEgA). --- ### **How to Get Started** To ensure the highest standards of safety and care for our community, we have a specific onboarding process: 1. **Safety Training:** All participants are ENCOURAGED to **[register for and complete](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdi5P6pBpFoWoX7dAw52fQWZNYW-tQU1jXaZrgQ5FhdLg4j4A/viewform)** a training session provided by our community partner, **Adelante/SI**. They provide the essential safety and security grounding needed for this work. When prompted, select "Groundworker", and you can write in "Planned Parenthood" or "Raíz" for "how did you hear about us?" 2. **Sign Up for Shifts:** If you're interested in volunteering for our Tuesday/Thursday packing days, please sign up for as many packing shifts as you’d like right here through **Mobilize**. *PLEASE NOTE: Safety Training Completion is not required for grocery box packing. This is a great opportunity for youth, teens, or anyone with spare free time on Tuesdays/Thursdays.
