About

Illicit fentanyl has become the number one cause of death in the U.S. for those 18 to 45. More than heart disease, cancer, or gun violence. A national fentanyl awareness movement bringing together families, advocates, recovery communities, prevention organizations, first responders, and community leaders to honor lives lost, raise awareness, and protect future generations. Hope Scheppleman Senior Advisor For SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will be out main speaker, a few more TBD. We will also hear from loved ones who have lost someone and hear from those who have recovered from Fentanyl. We will have a kids area with bump and jumps, playground, bubble machines. Kona Ice, Latin Venezuela and Bravo food trucks will be there. We will have a resource fair with tons of info on support, awareness, and mental health. The memorial wall and shoe display will honor the lives impacted by fentanyl poisoning, substance use, and addiction while reminding our community that every number is a real person deeply loved and missed. Shoes can represent anyone you are walking for — a child, parent, sibling, friend, spouse, or loved one. Participants are also welcome to attach names, notes, or memories to their memorial items. Together, we walk for them. 👟
