June 6th is D-Day. In this case, it stands for Democracy Day. Please join us on the Harlow Bridge over Highway 5 for a peaceful, powerful and legal pocket protest to point the finger at fascist billionaires and others enabling the loss of our hard won rights. By speaking out, we honor our parents and grandparents who fought in wars, and in their communities, to stop the erosion of democracy and the rise of tyrants and dictators of all stripes. This action is Eugene/Springfield's contribution to a national day of resistance on overpasses. Feel free to look for The Visibility Brigade online for ideas on messaging, like: BLAME THE BILLIONAIRES AND TAX THEM, STOP BILLIONAIRES ROBBING US, BILLIONAIRES are BLEEDING US DRY, FASCIST BILLIONAIRES MUST GO, STOP SUPPORTING BILLIONAIRES, FREE US FROM BILLIONAIRES, WORKERS OVER BILLIONAIRES, HONK IF YOU'RE NOT A BILLIONAIRE, FREE US FROM THE GREEDY FEW, JAIL THE EPSTEIN CLASS, HONOR VETS & RESIST TYRANTS, SHOP WITH YOUR CONSCIENCE. You might also focus on freedoms Americans have long cherished and defended: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom from want or fear, etc. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
