Anti-Fascism Overpass Protest Honoring D-Day
Saturday, June 6, 2026, 11:00 AM CDT
Pioneer Park And Ride (park and walk to the bridge), Mequon, Wisconsin
About
Join Ozaukee Indivisible on Saturday, June 6 from 11:00am-12:30pm for an overpass protest on Pioneer Road/Hwy bridge over I43. Please park in the park and ride on the east side of I43. 82 years ago the USA and our allies landed on the shores of Normandy with the goal of freeing Europe from fascism and nazi control. Thousands of brave soldiers fought and well over 2000 United State soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve global democracy. On Saturday, we will honor the brave men and women who fought with Allied Troops on D-Day. We will also be protesting the fascist slide into authoritarian rule currently taking place in the USA and the atrocities being committed by our government nationally and internationally. We encourage you to bring American flags and signs (use big font and few words so they are legible for the cars on the highway and the bridge traffic). WEATHER NOTICE: We are strongly encouraging people to register since we may have to cancel last minute if we encounter a threat of lightning on the radar. Be sure to check out our website and join our email list so you can stay up to date on all future protests and community events! https://ozaukeeindivisible.org/get-involved/ Ozaukee Indivisible is committed to nonviolent civic engagement. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at our events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
