Flag Day-Wave the Flag for Democracy

This a local Indivisible event! The American flag is a living symbol of a complex, evolving country. It represents our collective history—the triumphs, the hardships, and the values of liberty and justice. On this Flag Day, we celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment—speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest—and the people power that both fuels these rights and is essential to guarantee them. Join local organizations Jersey Shore Blue and Next Shore Neighbors in front of the "Field of Heroes" flag display at Sunset Memorial Park to honor the ideals of America and those who died to defend them. Bring signs that showcase why you proudly wave the American flag to share with passing cars and pedestrians. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
