Withington Park, Jackson, Michigan
About
## JACKSON: Get out your flags and flip 'em upside-down! Flag day was proposed in 1861, after the battle of Fort Sumter, to rally support for the Union -- because our flag is supposed to be a symbol of freedom, a symbol of the battle against oppression and for the safety of our neighbors. Yet it's also the anniversary of Trump's military intimidation parade. Our country is the one oppressing our neighbors, both locally and internationally, and we won't take it! Flag Day -- whether it was the first No Kings protest last year or the battle of Fort Sumter in 1861 -- has always been a day of battle, of freedom, of defending our neighbors. That is TRUE patriotism, and that is what our government continues to threaten. And we REFUSE to stand for it! ### JOIN US! - **WHAT:** A classic line-the-corner protest with a community discussion about fighting for our neighbors! - **WHERE:** Withington Park, downtown Jackson MI - **WHEN:** 2PM-4PM - **BRING:** your flags, American or otherwise, and your best protest sign!! (+ water + sunscreen) _NOTE: International flags will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis._ _NOTE: We are doing this protest on June 13th in support of the Rise Up, Sing Out events. Make sure to watch the concert live on June 14th at 7:30PM EST!_ ### QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? CONCERNS?
