Peekskill, NY: Rally to Stop the Enbridge Pipeline!
Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 12:00 PM EDT
Pugsley Park, Peekskill, New York
About
**Rally with local residents and elected officials to tell fossil fuel giant Enbridge we don't want to pay for their dirty, expensive pipeline expansion!** Over the past 3 years, elected officials and residents throughout the Hudson Valley came together to stop the expansion of a pipeline, then dubbed Project Maple, that runs through Peekskill. _**Now Enbridge is trying to expand that pipeline again and has introduced the project as "Project Beacon."**_ It's a new name but the same idea: expand a dirty, expensive pipeline to bring in more fracked gas, while we suffer the consequences. We can't afford the higher bills and added pollution this pipeline expansion would bring. **We can stop Enbridge with enough people power and elected officials speaking out to ensure this pipeline is stopped.** Rep. Mike Lawler must do the right thing for his constituents, stand against this outrageous proposal, and protect our air, water, and climate. On Tuesday, we'll be joined by local elected officials who will highlight what real leadership to lower utility bills and cut climate-heating pollution looks like. Join our rally to stop the Enbridge pipeline! While the details on the Enbridge pipeline expansion (now dubbed "Project Beacon") are not firmed up yet, showcasing opposition early is critical for making sure this pipeline does not get expanded in New York. Our Con Edison bills are already through the roof, and paying for another pipeline will hurt ratepayers more. We must stop Enbridge now! _Co-sponsored by: New York Communities for Change, Food & Water Watch, NYCD16-15 Indivisible, Westchester for Change, United for Clean Energy, IPSEC and Climate Families Westchester._
