About
## Join Team Talarico at Echoes of Emancipation: A Juneteenth Celebration at Reedy Chapel in Galveston! Join Team Talarico on June 19, 2026, as we gather with the community at historic Reedy Chapel A.M.E. Church to commemorate Juneteenth and honor the announcement of freedom to the enslaved people of Galveston in 1865. As one of Galveston's oldest African Methodist Episcopal congregations and a site deeply connected to the legacy of emancipation, Reedy Chapel provides a meaningful setting for reflection, celebration, and community. **Event Begins:** Festivities kick off at **12:00 PM** with family-friendly activities, cultural exhibits, local vendors, community engagement opportunities, and a chance to learn more about the history and significance of Reedy Chapel. **Team Arrival Time:** Please arrive by **5:30 PM**. **Re-Enactment March:** At **6:00 PM**, participants will take part in a commemorative march symbolizing the historic journey toward freedom and honoring the spirit of those who first received the news of emancipation. **Worship Service:** Following the march, attendees are invited to join a worship service featuring music, reflection, and messages of hope that celebrate the resilience, faith, and strength of the African American community. As we come together to honor Juneteenth's legacy of freedom, perseverance, and community, please consider bringing: **What to Bring:** * Your Team Talarico t-shirt and/or sign * Comfortable walking shoes * A hat, sunscreen, and water as needed * Friends and family to celebrate community! Please note: This event is hosted by Team Talarico. Although James will not be able to attend, we hope you'll join our team in commemorating Juneteenth and celebrating the values of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all Texans. We look forward to celebrating with you in Galveston!
