About

Join friends and neighbors to Stand Up for Voting Rights in Essex Junction. We'll be demonstrating our support for democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law. Bring a sign or an American flag, and invite a friend. This event is organized by Champlain Valley Indivisible and 5 Corners Resists. Our presence gives hope and inspiration to those who agree with us but who have not yet resolved to take action. And everyone who attends draws fresh energy from one another and from the positive community response. Park behind the city offices at 2 Lincoln St and the library at 6 Lincoln St. We'll start our event at the corner of Lincoln St and Pearl St, and then expand into Veterans Memorial Park. Please avoid using the municipal lot behind Firebird Cafe. Safety: This is a busy area. Please do not block any streets, sidewalks, driveway or business entrances. Please use crosswalks. Follow the direction of the safety marshals in orange or yellow vests. All participants share the responsibility of keeping this event safe and peaceful. Please do not engage with those who disagree with us. **A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
