Friday, July 3, 2026, 5:00 PM EDT
NC House District 96 (shift specific location), Hickory, North Carolina
About
This Independence Day, we're celebrating America's 250th anniversary by getting out into the community and meeting neighbors where they are. From July 1-4, Park and volunteers will visit locations across the district, handing out free cold water and asking one simple question: **What makes you proud to be an American?** Our goal is to have **250 conversations for America's 250th anniversary** and hear directly from the people who make our community strong. Along the way, we'll collect stories, share smiles, and connect with neighbors who may not otherwise cross paths with our campaign. No canvassing experience required! Whether you're comfortable striking up conversations, handing out water, helping with setup, taking photos, or simply welcoming people to participate, there's a role for you. Join us for a shift (or several!) as we bring a little hydration, a little patriotism, and a lot of community spirit to neighborhoods across the district. Once you sign up, our volunteer coordinator will follow up with your tour stop details, location information, and everything you need to participate. Let's celebrate America's 250th by listening, connecting, and building communityβone conversation at a time.
