About
We will be hosting a mutual aid drive for Greater Girls Greater Women in conjunction with our John Lewis Good Trouble Lives On event. Greater Girls Greater Women is a non-profit organization founded by our Oak Park neighbor, MaKisha Reed. It was established in 2018, and is based out of MaKisha's home. GGGW is a recipient of Citizens For a Fairer Ferndale "Good Neighbor Award." As the organization works to reduce barriers to receiving essential items that most mothers of young children need, they provide free resources to pregnant mothers and mothers in need. They also run a campaign called P.I.N.C. (Private Intimate Necessities Closet). P.I.N.C. provides selected schools with feminine hygiene products. Donation requests: diapers, wipes, bottles, clothes and toys (gently used acceptable), other baby supplies, 0-2yr. Feminine pads, tampons, feminine wipes. Suggestions can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/20BJ745KEG8GQ?ref_=wl_share While you can just stop by and drop off your donation(s), we invite you to stay for our Good Trouble Lives On event. Join us for music, speakers, food vendors, free baked goods, kids area, voting rights organizations, and more! Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we're organizing an event in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Join us as we stand up for the voting rights he fought so hard to win! https://www.mobilize.us/john-lewis-actions/event/955819/
