READING CITY COUNCIL: SAY NO TO DATA CENTERS

Monday, July 13, 2026, 7:00 PM EDT
City of Reading, Reading, Pennsylvania

About

We need your voice at an important moment for our community. On Monday, July 13th, at 7:00 PM, the Reading City Council will consider the introduction of a zoning ordinance designed to protect our neighborhoods, infrastructure, and quality of life from the harmful impacts of large-scale data center development and a 180 day Curative Amendment that would put a 6 month Moratorium on Data Centers (VOTED ON THAT DAY!) Thanks to the incredible organizing and advocacy of community members across Pennsylvania Stands Up Chapters, we have an opportunity to take a step toward ensuring that future development in Reading reflects the needs of residents—not just corporate interests. This ordinance would establish important safeguards and help prevent data center projects that could strain our energy grid, consume significant water resources, and alter the character of our communities without adequate oversight. Will you join us and bring 3 of you neighbors or loved ones to attend and show support for the introduction of 180 Day Moratorium? Your presence matters. Even if you do not plan to speak, simply showing up demonstrates to City Council that residents care deeply about protecting our community. City Council Meeting Monday, July 13th 7:00 PM Reading City Hall Thank you for your continued commitment to our community. Together, we organize. Together, we win. ✊🏽💛
