No Data Centers! Protect Our Desert - Protect Our Water Rally

About
The digital cloud shouldn't cost us our water supply. Data centers are quietly pushing into Southern Nevada, bringing severe environmental threats to our fragile desert ecosystem. Join Handmaids of Las Vegas and Indivisible Henderson-Boulder City along with their residents as we mobilize to protect our natural resources, preserve local community autonomy, and demand strict environmental oversight. Why We Are Protesting Industrial data centers process massive loads of global information every second, creating intense heat. To stay online, many facilities rely on massive volumes of water or strain local energy grids to run high-powered cooling systems. Draining Stressed Resources: In hyper-arid regions like Boulder City and Henderson, every gallon of water counts. Placing industrial data centers in drought-prone areas threatens groundwater reserves and puts a bottleneck on vital local water reclamation and recycling pipelines. Circumventing Community Oversight: Developers are actively trying to bypass local zoning restrictions and residents' input by pivoting projects onto nearby federal lands or pushing for sweeping ballot measures. High Strain, Low Return: These sprawling facilities consume immense amounts of power and water while providing very few permanent local jobs, transforming historic desert landscapes into sterile industrial zones. Pack City Hall: Make Your Voice Heard We are not letting these decisions happen in the dark. It is time to speak publicly, look local officials in the eye, and make it clear that our precious water belongs to our families, our ecosystem, and our future—not to massive data servers. When & Where: July 21st - 2:30pm Henderson City Hall (240 S Water St, Henderson, NV) What to Bring: Signs, reusable water bottles, and your public comment statement. Stand in Solidarity: When we organize, we win. The corporate push to commodify the desert stops here. By standing shoulder-to-shoulder, our collective voices become a barrier they cannot cross. Bring your neighbors, find your courage, and let’s defend our home together! In Hope & Unity, Handmaids of Las Vegas
