About
From Houston to Central Oregon--Abolish ICE Everywhere Stand with Lorenzo, stand with Central Oregonians abducted by ICE, stand with Minnesota, Maine, Texas. ICE Out Now! Join 50501 Central Oregon this Saturday, July 11th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Peace Corner (corner of Wall and Newport in Bend) as we gather in response to the ICE abduction of two Central Oregon residents the morning of July 8th, 2026 and killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by an ICE officer in Houston on July 7th, 2026. On July 8th, ICE agents were in Bend, near the Deschutes Memorial Chapel and Gardens, making an arrest. They drove a red Jeep SUV and a gray Dodge Durango. On July 7th, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed by an ICE officer in Houston on July 7th, 2026. Lorenzo was a father and longtime community member who was on his way to work when an ICE operation ended with his death. His family is demanding answers and an independent investigation. We gather to protest ICE everywhere, to stand with our Central Oregon community members abducted this week, to honor Lorenzo, to support our with immigrant communities, and to demand an end to an agency built on detention, deportation, fear, and violence. Bring your signs, some non-perishables for our ongoing food drive, and if you can, a donation to fund We Black Radio's work to bring Malynda Hale to Central Oregon. Enough is enough. It's time for Bend to speak out. Bring your voice. Stand with us.
