Protest at Moshannon Valley Detention Center

#### Protest at the Moshannon Valley Detention Center We will be driving to the detention center ([see map link here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/o7NT4ZqRviTU8Lvm6 )) for the protest. Please RSVP to receive information on the meeting spot at Moshannon and for info on (optional) plans for carpooling. The Moshannon Valley Processing Center is the largest ICE detention facility in the Northeast. Located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, it's operated under an intergovernmental service agreement (IGSA) between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and private prison corporation GEO Group. It is being used to detain up to 1,876 people each day, many of them asylum seekers and long-time U.S. residents. [Video of prayer vigil at Moshannon](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsgjMx60XMM) At some point before September of this year, the board of three commissioners of Clearfield County must decide whether to renew the contract with ICE, or let the contract expire – a precondition for shutting it down – which is the objective of our protest: **Do not renew the contract with ICE.** See further information at [indivisiblepoconos.org/ice](https://www.indivisiblepoconos.org/ice) We will be driving / carpooling to the detention center, which is about 2 hours and 45 minutes away (180 miles) -- [see map link here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/o7NT4ZqRviTU8Lvm6) For anyone wishing to carpool, we are planning to meet at the Hughes Main Library in Stroudsburg. The tentative schedule is to leave Stroudsburg at 9:00am and arrive around 12:00 noon, protest for one to two hours and then return. As the protest is outside in the parking lot, the action is called "Occupy the Lot". We will be joined by local activists and possibly volunteers from other Indivisible groups as well. ** Some details are still TBD, so please RSVP to receive updates on the plan, reminders and any schedule changes ** If you're not 100% sure you can join us, RSVP anyway so that you can get the latest updates and info, and you can always cancel later if needed. The address of the library is [1002 N 9th Street (map link)](https://maps.app.goo.gl/18uoJphPQ4U5W1Nz7) - at the corner of Chipperfield Drive and Route 611 / N 9th St. [IndivisiblePoconos.org](https://www.indivisiblepoconos.org/) [Our meetings, rallies and other events](https://www.mobilize.us/indivisiblepoconos/?show_all_events=true)
