Rally at Town Hall for Clean, Affordable Public Water
Tuesday, August 4, 2026, 10:00 AM EDT
Hempstead Town Hall, Hempstead, New York
About
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! For far too long, profit-driven utilities hold ratepayers hostage with relentless water rate increases and poor water service and quality, forcing families to struggle to afford a basic necessity...water. We've protested. We've petitioned. We've fought for clean, affordable public water for decades—and we're closer than ever. In 2022, water authorities were established to take over Liberty's Long Island operations. It's taking too long and the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County are directly responsible because it is their appointed water commissioners who failed to act effectively, efficiently and expeditiously. NOW WE NEED ACTION. NO MORE DELAYS. JOIN US AT HEMPSTEAD TOWN HALL. Stand with your neighbors and demand that the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County hold their appointed South Nassau Water Authority commissioners accountable for efficiently, effectively, and expeditiously acquiring Liberty Water before its latest proposed 37% rate increase takes effect.
