Protect Our Healthcare: "Sick of It!" Rally

About

We're approaching the anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, programs built on a simple promise: that getting sick should not mean getting wiped out. That promise is under attack. The latest round of cuts in Washington threatens coverage for working families across Rockland, and these cuts put two of our county's hospitals, Good Samaritan and Nyack Montefiore, at heightened risk of closure. If those doors close, our neighbors will have to travel farther for care and wait longer to get it. In an emergency, that distance can be the difference between life and death. The new Medicaid work requirements will only make matters worse, stripping coverage from people who need it, by adding paperwork and red tape. And when premiums were already soaring, Rep. Lawler's support for extending the ACA tax credits came too little, too late, arriving only after families had already been hit. By then the damage was done. We are not letting this go unanswered. Rep. Mike Lawler voted for these cuts, so we are bringing the message straight to his door. Join Empire State Voices and Protect Our Care outside Rep. Lawler's Pearl River office for the “Sick of It! Fix HealthCare Now” rally. We are calling on him to reverse these harmful cuts and protect the care our community depends on. What: Empire State Voices and Protect Our Care partner on “Sick of It!
