About

**Join NE Lake County Indivisible as we honor the legacy of John Lewis** and encourage our membership to *"Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America."* This event will feature an abridged presentation of the documentary "John Lewis: Good Trouble" along with a facilitated discussion. The program aims to educate and honor John Lewis' legacy while empowering and encouraging participants to identify a specific action plan for their own "Good Trouble." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ## ABOUT NE LAKE COUNTY INDIVISIBLE: NE Lake County IL Indivisible is a nonpartisan grassroots organization founded in 2025 in defense of democracy. We are Lake County residents working together to protect elections and neighbors. We aim to support targeted populations and take action on a local and national level to push back against authoritarianism. We welcome everyone, whether you voted this way or that way, or didn't vote at all in 2024. ### More about us can be found here: https://nelakecounty-indivisible.org https://linktr.ee/nelakecountyindivisible *These efforts cost money to put together! If you are able to financially support us, please consider making a donation here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indivisiblenelc1350105033* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON** shares this important message for their sponsored events: The fight to protect voting rights never ends, and right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power. But in America, we choose our leaders. We will decide our future. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action. Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we're organizing an event in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Join us! *Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. We require that participants commit to not advocate for, endorse, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative. A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
