About
#### Take action to protect and support our immigrant friends and neighbors! We will be joining a statewide mobilization organized by the [Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition](https://www.paimmigrant.org/) (PIC) to demand action for immigrant communities across Pennsylvania. The drive to the Capitol takes about 2 hours 15 minutes from Stroudsburg. The rally will be held on the Capitol steps -- [see map link here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/jPRYiqnHLgVm67uAA ) -- followed by lunch (food trucks on site) and a press conference inside at the Rotunda. ** Please RSVP to receive carpool info, updates and any schedule changes ** For anyone wishing to carpool, will meet at 8:15am at the Hughes Main Library in Stroudsburg, then drive to Harrisburg, where the rally will start at 11:00am. We will be joined there by coalition members and Indivisibles from all across Pennsylvania. We plan to start driving back around 3:00pm following lunch and the press conference. The address of the library is [1002 N 9th Street (map link)](https://maps.app.goo.gl/18uoJphPQ4U5W1Nz7) - at the corner of Chipperfield Drive and Route 611 / N 9th St. [Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/PAImmigrant/) Across the Commonwealth, immigrant families are facing increased ICE collaboration, detention expansion, and dangerous conditions inside detention facilities. PIC and our members have been calling on Governor Shapiro to resist ICE for years. Now, we are calling on the Governor to take administrative action to: - Issue an emergency removal order to shut down the Abraxas Child Detention Center - End collaboration with ICE, including giving ICE access to state databases and PennDOT information, and ending the enforcement of ICE detainers - Expand protections for immigrant communities, including challenging federal attempts to use state public benefit records for immigration enforcement and ensuring state databases collect only the information necessary to provide services At Abraxas, years of reported abuse concerns and new efforts to detain immigrant children there have made state action even more urgent. **Governor Shapiro has the power to act now.** He can use the full power of his office to protect immigrant rights in the Commonwealth today. ** Please RSVP to receive carpool info, updates and any schedule changes ** ### Event Details Statewide Mobilization in Harrisburg – Wednesday, July 29, 2026 – Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - 11:00am - 12:30pm: Rally on Capitol Steps - 12:30pm - 2:00pm: Lunch (food truck on site) - 2:00pm - 3:00pm: Press Conference at Main Rotunda **Our communities are ready.
