[Centreville VA] - Roadside Witness for Detained Neighbors. Justice for Lorenzo and Johan ICE Out.

As we witness continued ICE violence, including the tragic killings of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Texas and Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine, the time is vital to speak out against the immoral targeting of loved ones and neighbors. Locally, in Northern Virginia, ICE has escalated an enforcement surge. ICE agents are detaining our neighbors as they go to work, live their daily lives, and seek basic social services. Families are being torn apart. Centreville has been hit especially hard. Because of this, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF) and partners are calling for people to bear public witness on U.S. 29 - a site where many immigrants have been taken - to raise visibility and show that our community will not look away. Cosponsors include: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax The Congregation Action Network Showing Up For Racial Justice - Northern Virginia Arlington Neighbors United For Humanity *A core principle behind all Disappeared In America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
