Work Party - Sign Installation on Wheeler Demonstration Trail
Saturday, August 8, 2026, 9:30 AM PDT
Wheeler, Oregon
About
Now is the time to start installing signs at the Wheeler Demonstration Trail! To install the signs, we will be using augers to drill holes, using cement mixers, and pouring concrete, so prepare for some construction work! We will also be raking and continuing restoration work on the surrounding trail. All skill and experience levels with construction or trail work are welcome and desired. We will meet behind the railroad tracks on Marine Dr and Hemlock St (west side of Hwy 101) in Wheeler at 9:30 AM. Bring a snack and water for yourself; we will get lunch from the NeahKahNie Smoke House or Handy Creek Bakery in Wheeler when we wrap up at 12:30 PM. We will have some tools, but if you have your own rake, shovel, and work gloves, bring them along! Shovels and work gloves would be particularly helpful. If you are coming from the Portland Metro area, let us know if you need to carpool, and we will help arrange a ride!
