About
In response to the recent surge in ICE enforcement nationwide and new reporting by NBC News, the De-ICE Hanscom Coalition will join organizations across the country in the National Week of Action to End ICE Flights, with its July 31 standout at Hanscom Field. These flights often happen quickly after someone is taken by ICE, and flown to detention centers far from home and their access to legal support. ICE deportation flights have consisted of detainees chained and in some cases sitting on the tarmac for hours. A documentary about these cruel deportation flights is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BsGVWw8BZQ We will meet at the Hanscom Rotary in Lincoln for a peaceful stand out against these inhumane ICE flights. We will be joined by the Maynard Freedom Singers and by guest speakers including Jonathan Paz and Jared and Laurie Berezin. * A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
