About

### 🚨UPDATE: We’re Taking the Fight OUTSIDE! Protest at Mesa City Hall on August 31st 🚨 On May 13, 2026, the Mesa Planning & Zoning Board quickly and quietly voted unanimously to recommend approval of the 2,257,581 sq ft [Mesa Data Center Campus known as the NTT Global PH10]( https://www.mesavalleyindivisible.org/no-mesa-ntt-global-ph10-data-center). Originally, we planned to attend the Mesa City Council meeting on July 20th to hold up signs voicing our demands, just like we successfully did at the June 8th meeting. **However, the City Council is actively trying to silence Mesa residents. Here is what has changed:** - Agenda Manipulation: Just three days before the meeting, a city representative emailed the advocacy groups fighting this project to state that the NTT Global PH10 data center will not be on the July 20th agenda. Because they know we plan to attend these meetings regardless of what is on the agenda, this is a blatant move to discourage us from showing up. - Aggressive Sign Bans: In an escalating effort to quiet our opposition, the council has passed new rules stating attendees can no longer bring any signs inside the meeting chamber—not even small 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper (which they previously restricted). These constant, shifting rules are designed to make us invisible. But we will not be ignored. If they won't let us show our signs inside, we will make sure they are impossible to ignore on the steps of City Hall. Mesa Valley Indivisible is pivoting this event to an outdoor protest starting at 5:00pm (meeting starts at 5:45pm). We will make our voices heard loud and clear from the outside! ## 📢 Calls to Action: **Whether or not you can attend, please do the following three things:** 1. [Submit a comment here](https://us.openforms.com/Form/44ff3314-58bb-418a-a122-46fe7725feef)! Feel free to choose one of the concerns listed below if you do not want to write your own comment. 2. MVI and other local activists know it is VITAL we voice our disgust every single council meeting in order to make sure they actually listen to their constituents! ## ## 🔑 Key Concerns Driving the Protest: - Massive Handouts, Tiny Returns: Similarly sized data centers receive over $100 million a year in tax subsidies. That is revenue stolen directly from our local community services and neighborhood improvements. - Virtually No Job Creation: Despite taking up huge amounts of space, this massive facility will only create 40 to 60 permanent jobs paying $60,000 or less. Compared to advanced manufacturing or bioscience, data centers provide practically zero high-quality jobs per acre. - We Pay Their Bills: The infrastructure improvements and utility upgrades required for this project will likely be passed on to everyday customers, not the multibillion-dollar company. - Driving Up Local Costs: Developments like this artificially inflate land costs, making it harder for our local farmers, small businesses, and families looking for affordable housing to survive. - A 2.2 million-square-foot facility requires an astronomical amount of energy and water to keep its servers cool. In our delicate desert environment, this level of resource consumption is completely unsustainable and directly threatens the capacity of our local utilities. - This project threatens the safety and peace of our residential areas. The constant, 24/7 roar of massive cooling fans creates severe noise pollution, while the sprawling, windowless buildings will industrialize our local landscape and destroy our community's character. ## 🪧 Sign Ideas: - We won't be silent! - No more Mesa Data Centers! - NO one wants Data Centers! - Hate data centers = bipartisan ## 📷 Pictures & Videos - Make sure to always tag **Mesa Valley Indivisible** on our group [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CFYV1DSaT/), [Instagram page](https://www.instagram.com/mesavalleyindivisible/), [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@mesa.valley.indiv?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc), [BlueSky](https://bsky.app/profile/mesavalleyindivisi.bsky.social), and [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@mesa.valley.indiv?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc) - Please also include #MesaValleyIndivisible #AbolishICE #CloseAROCC #RecuseBiggs #ReleaseEpsteinFiles - Add all photos & videos to our [Google drive!](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1R6lirUQPGZxVufpkqMjb1jvcwn6VrzNq?usp=drive_link)
