DHS/ICE Debt Services, Williston, Vermont
About
Stand against ICE with friends and neighbors. We'll be at the DHS/ICE Debt Management Center at 166 Sycamore St in Williston. (Note that we'll be at the employee entrance /parking lot on the BACK side of the building facing Maple Tree Place.) According to a recent article in the New York Times, ICE is using fines to harass and intimidate immigrants into self-deporting, including individuals with active cases pending and legal authorization to work. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/22/us/immigration-civil-fines-self-deportation.html?unlocked_article_code=1.1FA.YgwD.yE_2e9y4Yw5y&smid=url-share Bring an American flag, or bring signs relating to ICE - their overreach, their aggressive tactics, their human rights violations. We want the community to know that ICE has offices in multiple locations in Williston, next to the places where we shop for school supplies, attend movies, and enjoy meals with friends. All participants share responsibility of keeping this event peaceful and safe. Do not engaging negatively with those who disagree with us. And please follow the directions of the safety marshals in yellow or orange vests. A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
