About
**Rally with us, Mayor James Solomon, Assemblywoman Katie Brennan, and other elected officials and advocates to say: MAKE POLLUTERS PAY!** We've had a summer of extreme weather here in New Jersey, with heat waves, flooding and severe storms, power outages, wildfire smoke, and even tornadoes. With this extreme weather comes extreme costs, in both dollars and in lives. New Jersey residents need relief. That's why we're rallying for the Polluters Pay Act in Jersey City on Monday, August 17. This bill would help shift the growing cost of the climate crisis off of residents and onto the major fossil fuel extractors most responsible for this crisis, making them pay their fair share. It would raise $50 billion to fund climate resiliency projects like flood control, electric grid upgrades, cooling centers, modern HVAC systems for our schools, and much more, while creating thousands of good jobs in the process. **It's time to Make Polluters Pay! Join us in Jersey City on August 17!** *This event is co-sponsored by EmpowerNJ, Hoboken Resist, NJ Working Families Party, GreenFaith, and Climate Revolution Action Network.*
