About

Mike Lawler has voted to cut life saving services like Medicaid and FoodStamps - these are life lines for the people of district 17 in New York. Join us to hear from people directly impacted by Lawlers decision to fund cruelty over care. Care Over Cruelty During the August congressional recess, Members of Congress will be back in their districts. This is our opportunity to ensure they cannot escape the consequences of the votes they took to slash healthcare and food assistance while funding an unprecedented expansion of ICE. Across the country, we are calling on organizations, faith leaders, healthcare workers, immigrants, labor unions, and directly impacted people to organize visible actions outside congressional district offices and other public locations to demand accountability. Whether it's a rally, vigil, press conference, community meal, march, office visit, die-in, empty-chair installation, or creative action, every district should hear the same message: Recent ICE operations have also resulted in deadly encounters and shootings, raising urgent concerns about the growing militarization of immigration enforcement and the dangers posed to immigrants, bystanders, and entire communities. Congress made these choices—and Members of Congress must answer for them.Families deserve healthcare and food—not fear, deportation, and cruelty.
