About
The weekend of August 28th, 29th, & 30th, Hoosiers across Indiana are rising in a powerful, unified public witness with a goal of holding 50+ prayer vigils to end the crisis of ICE detention at Miami Correctional Facility. On Friday, Aug. 28, from 7-8pm, Fishers Resists will hold a vigil at Cumberland Park in Fishers, at the SW corner on 106th & Cumberland Rd. We will have guest speakers, singing, candles and placards in memory of those who've died in ICE detention. We're not gathering to divide our community -- we're gathering to remind people that every human life has dignity. Local families are being torn apart, leaving traumatized U.S. citizen children and spouses in a desperate scramble for basic survival. We need everyone to step up if we’re going to close this hellhole in the middle of our state. Fishers is for everyone. Let's raise our voices, together.
