About
Big tech oligarchs are pushing for dozens of massive, energy-hungry hyperscale data centers in New York State, putting our air, water, climate, and wallets at risk. That’s why we need the state to stand up and protect ratepayers and our environment now. Join Citizen Action and our partners on Friday, August 21, at noon in Binghamton for a press event to urge Governor Hochul to sign the Responsible Data Center Development Act! The Responsible Data Center Development Act would make the current data center moratorium stronger and include important regulations to protect ratepayers, our climate, and our natural resources from big tech exploitation. With so many New Yorkers already behind on their utility bills amidst an intensifying climate crisis, the state must act against the threat of new and massive data centers in our backyards. Show your support by joining us on Friday, Aug. 21, at noon in Binghamton! We’ll have signs and visuals showing our support for strong policy that keeps data centers from raising our bills and damaging our climate.
