About

This a local Indivisible event! Indivisible Hector Schuyler County is supporting Seneca Lake Guardians with this event. Anything that affects Seneca Lake and our environment affects every single living being who calls this beautiful place home. Protecting the environment, unfortunately, remains a political issue. It is imperative that our community stand up to protect this beautiful land we call the Finger Lakes. Here is the description of the event provided by Seneca Lake Guardians. Senator Gonzalez will join advocates and community members at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center in Geneva for a rally and press conference as part of her statewide tour around data centers. Speakers will include Assemblymember Kelles, business owners, residents, academic experts and representatives of the Gayogo̱hóǫˀ (Cayuga) Nation, who will underscore the impacts of the Greenidge Generation facility and concerns about data center expansion across the Finger Lakes. Greenidge recently rebranded as ‘Vulcan Infrastructure and Power’ as it shifts its focus toward AI, raising renewed concerns about the facility’s future. Please RSVP at this link: https://actionnetwork.org/.../seneca-lake-fights-ai-data.../ *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
