Protest Safety & First Aid

This class focuses on practical ways to stay safe at a protest and provide basic first aid. We will go over: situational awareness, PPE, chemical decontamination, basic first aid, and what you need in your first aid kit. The class will conclude with hands on practice to help you hone your first aid skills! Our instructor is a retired firefighter/paramedic who has been at the Portland ICE facility on a regular basis. Chad has dealt with tear gas attacks, rubber bullets, riot police, aggressive counter protestors, and everything else in-between. Learn from firsthand experience about what to do (and what not to do) while protesting at high risk environments. Due to the hands-on nature of this class we need participants to register so we can get a headcount. If you will not be able to attend please cancel your RSVP.
