NJ: South Jersey Rally to Make Polluters Pay!
Sunday, August 30, 2026, 12:30 PM EDT
Cooper River Park, Pennsauken, New Jersey
About
We've had a summer of extreme weather here in New Jersey, with heat waves, flooding and severe storms, power outages, wildfire smoke, and even tornadoes. With this extreme weather comes extreme costs, in both dollars and in lives. New Jersey residents need relief. **That's why we're rallying for the Polluters Pay Act at Cooper River Park on Sunday, August 30.** This bill would help shift the growing cost of the climate crisis off of residents and onto the major fossil fuel extractors most responsible for this crisis, making them pay their fair share. It would raise $50 billion to fund climate resiliency projects like flood control, electric grid upgrades, cooling centers, modern HVAC systems for our schools, and much more, while creating thousands of good jobs in the process. **It's time to Make Polluters Pay! Join us at Cooper River on August 30!** *This event is co-sponsored by Sustain SJ, South Jersey Progressive Democrats, Sunrise Woolwich, and Camden for Clean Air.*
