About
## 🪧Mesa Valley Indivisible & Phoenix DSA Protest Against the Mesa Gateway Airport Business Summit! When local lawmakers recently conducted a surprise visit to the Arizona Removal Operations Coordination Center here at Mesa Gateway, they were sickened by what they found. Despite being a transit hub meant for 12-hour stays, people were being held for weeks, packed like sardines on bare concrete floors with no beds or showers. While the administration continues to claim these are short-term facilities, the reality has proven to be gut-wrenching medical neglect and overcrowding. The Mesa Gateway Airport Summit continues "business as usual" by allowing businesses to contract with the airport. No profit should continue when Mesa Gateway Airport is making money off the backs of detainees that are living in deplorable conditions. 📢 Join Mesa Valley Indivisible and the Phoenix DSA on Thursday, August 20th from 7:00 am - 8:30 am! ## 🔑 Key Concerns Driving the Protest: - We have compiled public records, congressional oversight letters, and local reporting into one place. - Please read our complete [Mesa Valley Indivisible AROCC and ICE Air Deportations Fact Sheet](https://www.mesavalleyindivisible.org/ice-deportationsarocc) to understand the full scope of our key concerns and see how you can take action. The business summit is being held at the Mesa Country Club. We will be protesting on the sidewalk outside of the Mesa County Club entrance at the corner of Country Club Dr and Fairway Dr. Meet at the parking lot at 1530 N Country Club Dr, Mesa, AZ 85201, USA, by 7:15 am and we'll walk over together to the picketing location. The walk is about half a mile. Or, if you prefer, you can look for other parking nearby (there may be some street parking) and meet us.
