I-91 Overpasses for Democracy/Visibility Brigade Coordinated Standout

This a coordinated Indivisible event throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont, and it is sponsored by Indivisible North Central CT. We will be standing on the I-91 S. Center St. overpass in Windsor Locks on Friday, August 28, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Other groups will be standing on overpasses through all three states. Bring your large signs, smaller signs, banners, and flags to help us wave to drivers and share our messages. We will have larger signs facing the highway and the smaller signs facing cars driving over the overpass. This event will be held rain or shine unless there is severe weather. Our messaging this month will be centered around the 11 words of Be Brave Week, "Be brave with us. We'll stand with you. Vote in November. Suggested messaging could be about that or anything having to do with voting, No Kings, No Illegal War, etc. Let your creativity fly! A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
