About
Rep. Mike Lawler went back on his word and voted to raise your energy bills. We’re calling it the Mike Spike. He voted to repeal clean energy tax credits that keep household electric costs down, and he did it to pay for tax breaks for the top 1%. Fewer affordable energy projects mean more strain on an aging grid, and that strain shows up as higher rates for the people who can least absorb them. Rep. Lawler’s vote lands in Hudson Valley mailboxes every month. Families in the Hudson Valley have seen a 10% increase in their energy bills. Families should not have to make tough financial choices while simply trying to keep their homes cool. Rep. Lawler needs to be held accountable for his Mike Spike votes for higher gas prices, cuts to healthcare, and higher grocery prices in the Hudson Valley. Our families need relief, not tax breaks for the wealthy. Join Empire State Voices, Food & Water Watch, and neighbors for an Energy Costs Rally to Tell Rep. Lawler it’s time he answers for his votes and fights for the Hudson Valley. Join us as we stand with families facing the affordability crisis he’s fueling. Date: Tuesday, August 25 Time: 12 PM Location: 60 McAlpin Ave, Mahopac, NY 10541 Bring signs, bring water, bring a friend or five.
