We are meeting in Washington Square Park under the arch, 5:30 Friday Aug. 28 for a protest action. We will then march ceremonially to the occupation of the OpenAi headquarters nearby at 295 Lafayette st. to call for a pause on AI research and press OpenAI to call for an international treaty. AI is dangerous, and the danger is growing. It poses a major threat to human civilization. It is eliminating jobs, being used for surveillance, and destroying our environment. It is also eroding our foundation abilities, and many experts believe the AI models pose a threat to our survival as a species. Tech leaders themselves have admitted that the continued use and development of AI could result in mass extinction. Ai is eliminating jobs on a massive scale and disenfranchising workers. It has an incredible negative impact on the environment. And is dangerous to all of us a species. This is why we are looking for Unions, Environmental Advocacy groups, and other turnout partners for this action. Show up and make your voice heard in the fight against Big Tech.
