About
(please no animals- leave pets at home it's too hot!) (Bring a sign!) August 25 is the 110 Anniversary of the National Park Service. Our National Parks showcase the best of America’s 250-year legacy, our shared history and what unites us. But THE GREAT SMOKY MTNS, ALL NATIONAL PARKS AND STAFF ARE UNDER SERIOUS THREAT. All in the name of greed. Over the past year, the National Park Service has lost a quarter of its permanent staff, including thousands of park rangers, maintenance workers, and educators. Across the country, parks are struggling. Parks have been forced to cut educational programs while critical park experts supporting research, science and stewardship have been forced out. As visitors flock to the parks, staffing shortages threaten the parks’ ability to protect visitors and respond to emergencies. National parks deserve to be fully protected. The health of our national parks depends on a strong and well-supported park staff. Please join Protect Our Parks as we stand with the National Parks Conservation Association August 25th 4pm to 5:30pm at the front of the Blount County Court House - 345 Court St. Maryville Tn to stand up and speak out for all the National Parks and Staff. Come show your support for the people who maintain trails, search and rescue, greet you at the gate, put on educational programs and make every visit unforgettable. See you there! Bring a sign!
