About
Join us on Saturday September 12th for a peaceful community gathering dedicated to promoting dialogue, unity, and a future where cooperation triumphs over conflict from 10 AM to 12 PM on the Lockport City Hall lawn. This is the first of three (3) non-violent and non-partisan visibility events from September to October 2026 held on the Lockport City Hall lawn, where we stand in solidarity with our neighbors. Our message for September 12th: No More Wars. Choose Peace. Build Tomorrow. We ask you to please bring a sign that reflects this message, and if you are unable to make a sign prior to the event there will be posters and markers available. Mark your calendars for the next two (2) visibility events, times and event details viewable on the Independent Activists in Lockport Illinois Action Network page: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026: 🤝 Equality starts with us. Stand together for human rights and equality. Saturday October 24th, 2026: 🗳️ Get Out and Vote. Democracy Works When We Participate. (Speaker) A moment of silence will be observed at 11:30 AM, to honor the 25th anniversary of the loved ones lost during the tragedy of 9/11. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
