About
Join Powered by People at the We The People Rally for Democracy at Dallas City Hall. Thousands of Dallasites are showing up to stand up and speak out β and we need volunteers to make sure every one of them leaves registered, checked, and connected. Event details: π Thursday, September 10 β° Shift 1: 3:00 PM β 6:00 PM | Shift 2: 5:00 PM β 9:00 PM π Dallas City Hall β 1500 Marilla St, Dallas, TX 75201 How the day flows: - 3:00 β 5:00 PM (Shift 1): Setup, then canvassing. Before the crowd arrives, we work the area and talk with our coalition partners' volunteers β a lot of the people building this rally haven't had their own registration checked. We'll also catch early arrivals and folks passing through downtown. - 5:00 β 6:00 PM: Shift overlap and handoff. Crowd starts building; all hands working the plaza. - 6:00 β 9:00 PM (Shift 2): Peak rally crowd. This is our biggest window β full REACH push. Pick whichever shift works for you. If you can stay for both, even better. β οΈ PARKING IS GOING TO BE TRICKY β PLEASE READ This is downtown Dallas during a large rally. Plan for parking to take longer than you expect. - Metered street parking all around City Hall β bring a card or the parking app - There are paid lots and garages nearby, but they fill up fast on rally days - Give yourself 30 extra minutes if you are arriving during peak times. - Consider DART β City Hall is walkable from downtown stations - Carpool with another volunteer if you can Once you're parked, come find our table and check in with me before you start. What we'll be doing: - Meeting people where they are β working a large, energized rally crowd - Checking voter registration status using the REACH app (Texas has over 1.2 million voters sitting on the suspense list) - Registering new voters on the spot - Adding attendees to REACH so they get a voting buddy for every election - Talking with folks about how relational organizing helps flip Texas Volunteer needs: - REACH-trained volunteers required - VDR certification strongly preferred - All volunteers welcome β we'll pair you with experienced folks - Tables and chairs will be provided. Just bring yourself and a willingness to talk to neighbors. What to bring: - Fully charged phone with the REACH app logged in - Power bank β there are no outlets and you'll be on your phone all day - Water bottle and comfortable shoes - Your PxP shirt if you have one Sign up for a shift below. Let's show up for our neighbors and build the long-term organizing infrastructure we need to win.
