About
As Trump loses popular opinion on every front: the Iran war, Epstein files, cost of living, agricultural policy, tariffs, and data centers/AI, his administration ramps up the one effort that resonates with his xenophobic cult following: indiscriminate deportations. As DHS activity increases, so do "shuffling" flights out of our own Richmond International Airport: Detainees are shipped from one airport to another, without receiving due process, and against their will. Many detainees follow all the rules of their pending immigration cases before ICE snatches them from their families, revokes their status, and ships them from holding pen to holding pen to hide their whereabouts from their families and lawyers until they self-deport out of despair. RIC served 26 of these flights in July 2026 alone. Join us in telling the Capitol Region Airport Commission, "No more." Our airport shall not serve this cruel and illegal administration. Meet at the Southeast corner of Williamsburg Rd and Airport Dr Saturday, September 19th 10:30- noon. **Please note, there is NO PARKING at the corner. Carpool and park 1/2 mile away at 319 W Williamsburg Rd, in the back lot of Corinth United Methodist Church at 23 W. Williamsburg Rd, or Sandston Elementary School at 7 Naglee Ave. Shuttles will be provided a half hour before and after the event** Bring your own shade, water, and signs. Marshals, medics, music, and banners will be provided. Hosted by Super Saturday, RVA Indivisible, RVA ICE-SCREAM, Indivisible Central Virginia, and First Unitarian Universalist of Richmond. **All our hosts and attendees are committed to non-violence in tone and deed. No weapons, even legal ones, are allowed at this event.**
