Unwarranted - A Rally for Immigrant's Rights

Tuesday, September 29, 2026, 5:30 PM CDT
Wichita, Kansas

About

Join us as we launch one of the priorities of our new immigrants' rights campaign, Opportunity Forward. This in-person, bilingual, and family-friendly event is the first step in our work to end the unwarranted 287g agreements that allow ICE’s reckless behavior into our cities and counties and diverts resources meant to strengthen, protect, and serve our communities. Together, we will call on our cities to refuse these agreements, and instead to create the kind of communities where all Kansans have the opportunity to move forward. Event Programming and Information: Please note that we will have a Spanish translator at this event. There will be speakers, family friendly activities, cultural performances, tabling by partner organizations, and free shaved ice. The event area does not offer chairs, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair if needed. Speakers: Joseph Shepard, Wichita Councilman, District 1 Claudia Amaro - Editor-in-Chief, Planeta Venus Micah Kubic - Executive Director, ACLU of Kansas
